6 Ways You Can Easily Help Support Small Businesses.

Do you find it difficult to shop local and support small businesses? When was the last time you did so? It really is simple and you can even support them without spending any money.

  1. 1. Write a review – have you been to or used a small local business recently? Write them a review on their website, google or Facebook. Spread and share your views about the experience or products you purchased. Small business owners love reading them and other people can also see how great they are.
  • 2. Follow the business on social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok) – give them a follow and help grow their audience. Having a larger audience helps these small businesses stand out and getting noticed.
  • 3. Engage with the businesses on social media once you have followed them – help boost their engagement. Like their posts, comment, tag your friends and family or anyone you think may be interested in what they have to offer. Even better, share on your grid/page/newsfeed or stories for all your followers to see. Just help spread the word because it’ll mean a whole lot more to them than you realise.
  • 4. Tell your family and friends about the business – this links well with the above point. One of the most successful way of a business growing is by word of mouth and recommendations and who doesn’t trust their family or friends view when it comes to products and services?
  • 5. Similar to a review but write the business a personal message about how much you loved them and how great the shopping experience was. Small business owners have tough days like the rest of us and receiving a positive message like that could just help them realise and remind them why they started in the first place. It is also helpful letting them know if they can share your comment as a testimonial.
  • 6. Sign up to their email list – another email you say, yes… I know. They can be a pain but if you like the product or services they provide, I’m sure you won’t mind joining their email list and them notifying you of new products or discounts they have on offer.
