The Big Night In – Taking A Stand Against Spiking

You may or may not have heard that this Wednesday 27th October and Friday 29th October, people are taking a stand against drink spiking. A boycott of clubs and pubs is being promoted to make sure the issue is being taken seriously and actioned. Check out @bignightincardiff, @bignightinoxford, @girlsnightinbournemouth or check your local big night in/girls night in Instagram page for advice on keeping safe when out and about and what the boycott stands for.

We support anything that makes you all feel safer. You may think why are we supporting this when we help promote clubs and pubs nationally? The reason behind this is because we will do anything to help the public feel safe when socialising, which in the long term can only be a benefit to all the pubs and clubs that need our support, especially after lockdown and the tough times they have already been through.

How can you make the usual biggest student night out of the week, the biggest night in?

Here’s a few ideas we’ve come up with to help:-

  • – Get some friends round and have a big take away
  • – Pop to the supermarket and get in some supplies. Whether is food, alcohol, some cards to play card games.
  • – Have a film night with some friends
  • – Get some pals together and have a pamper night. (Yes, this really can for anyone, especially when accompanied by a few cocktails)
  • – Whack some music on using Spotify and bring the party to your house.

My VIP Rewards has some great discounts you can use and enjoy to make this big night in, a night to remember for good reasons. Get money off Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Just Eat, Asda, Spotify and lots, lots more.

To help support such an important cause, as well as helping support our local businesses, we are giving you the chance to try our My VIP Rewards app and discounts free for the first month. Use the discount code ‘bignightin1’ at checkout to start saving. Enjoy and let’s put a stop to spiking!
